Meditation, Prayer, and Falling into God with John King.  Come join one our local mystics for a discussion about the spiritual practices of meditation and prayer. This presentation will be a follow-up John’s sermon. 

Focus Mailing Party  Wednesday, February 1, at 11 a.m. in the UUCC library.  Join other volunteers to ready the monthly newsletter for mailing.  No reservations necessary, simply show up.  A pizza lunch follows for everyone who helps.

MDD Young Adult Ministry Conference  February 4, 2012 at Jefferson Unitarian Church, Golden, CO from 9-4

This conference is a multigenerational event about how to incorporate young adult ministry into our congregations in a stronger way.  Experts in their areas will be coming from across the district to share their experience with small group ministry, young adult OWL, and young adults’ part in justice GA, as well as Kayla Parker from the UUA, who will be discussing campus ministry and the bridging process.

Great Decisions 2012  The Great Decisions Group will meet from 1:00-2:30 p.m. on Saturdays for eight consecutive weeks in February and March at the UUCC library.

Topics are:February 4 Middle East Realignment, February 11 Promoting Democracy. February 18 Mexico,  February 25 Cybersecurity, March 3 Exit from Afghanistan & Iraq, March 10 State of the Oceans, March 17 Indonesia, March 24 Energy Geopolitics

February Coffee Hour The success of this important aspect of fellowship depends on the members of this congregation, the many volunteers are greatly appreciated!

When the first letter of your name falls on the assigned Sunday, please come early, help set up, bring a snack to share or devote a few minutes after to help clean up, as budget and time permit of course!

Our Whole Lives (OWL) 4th-6th Grades  The OWL class orientation for 4-6th graders has been re-scheduled.

We will be meeting from noon-two on Sunday the 5th in the library. The orientation is for all interested parents/guardians and childcare will be provided.  The class will be taught by Luanne Gearhart, Birgitt Paul and Melanie Dutremble. 

Harvest the Power Leadership Training Course

Lea Grubbs, Dana Lightsey, and other leaders from the church will co-facilitate this three-session course in leadership for allcurrent leaders, facilitators, committee chairs, staff, etc. and for anyone interested in become a leader.  

We are using the UUA’s new curriculum from the Tapestry of Faith called Harvest the Power.  

Dates for the remaining trainings are:  Thursday, February 9, 6:00-8:30 p.m.; and Saturday, February 25, 9 a.m.-3 p.m.  Lunch and snacks will be provided.  Please contact Lea Grubbs if you would be interested in the last two sessions. 

Be Part of the Interfaith Cookbook!

Submit your favorite recipe or helpful hints and you will be entered into a drawing to win a free cookbook.  Recipes are being collected from the various members of the Cheyenne Interfaith Council and will be a treasured collection of multi-faith, multi-culture cuisine.

Books will be available hardcopy or on CD.  Business advertisement space is also available.  This collection will be sent off for print February 10, so send all your favorites by email, or drop off hardcopy to Andrea at the Administrative Office.

Service Auction 2012  Saturday, March 10, 2012  The festivities begin at 5 p.m. Everyone is welcomed for a WONDERFUL time.  Lot of socializing, a great dinner and great deals!  Free childcare provided.  Exciting entertainment provided (more about thilater.)
