Join us this Sunday as we explore how we can find belonging among people with different beliefs and religious backgrounds, and the unexpected gifts that can emerge from multi-faith community.
 All are welcome!

Our Classes This Week are as follows:
Sanctuary: Exploring Our Night-Time Dreams as a Spiritual Practice
Dr. Royce Fitts well lead us through a gentle, fun and enlightening conversation about our nighttime dreams. We will explore how our dreams are a wonderful healing and transformative resource for our waking lives. Royce is a minister, licensed marriage and family therapist and has passionately worked with dreams and dreamers for over 30 years.

Library: Let’s Talk About Death
Join Rev. Hannah for a discussion about death, dying, and the grief (and possibility) that accompany them. Bring your questions, wonderings, and insights!

Social Hall: Decorating Sugar Skulls
Dia De Muertos/Day of the Dead has a long Mexican tradition. It is a time to remember loved ones who’ve passed away and to celebrate life. Children often eat sugar skulls and learn to respect the circle of life and not to fear death. Learn more and help celebrate this time as we decorate sugar skulls with Mark Vinich.

Dani Roeseler is recovering nicely at Life Care in Rm 32, and she welcomes visitors!  Please keep her in your thoughts.
If you have any Joys, Concerns, Personal Congratulations (Birthdays, Anniversaries, Graduations, etc.) that you would like to share with the Congregation, please email the administrator at administrator@uucheyenne.org. Please Note:
  • If you would like your submission to run more than one week, please include that in your email.
  • If you would like your submission included in that Sunday’s Joys and Concerns section of the service, please include this in your email; otherwise it will only be in the newsletter.

First Quarter Pledge statements are being mailed out this week. Please note that they will include only pledge payments recorded during the 1st quarter of our fiscal year (July– September). If you made payments and/or donations for any purpose other than pledge, they will not show on these statements.

It is also possible that payments made at the very end of September may not have been recorded until October.

Please contact Tamra, our Church Administrator, if you have any questions or concerns about your statement, or if you need any additional information at this time.

Halloween Hunger Hunt

It is estimated that 1 in 6 children in Wyoming are struggling with having insufficient food. We ask that you please help us to battle the Horcrux of Hunger by bringing in a canned good or nonperishable food item by Sunday, October 27th

We ask that you take a moment after service and prior to the potluck to hide your donation somewhere in the sanctuary so that the children can battle the iniquity of hunger by finding your gifts. Your kind donations shall be given to Family Promise.

Family Fun Day Carnival

Volunteers are needed to run games at the Family Fun Day Carnival. Call Lori at 307-772-8770, email to director@familypromiseofcheyenne.org. Or just show up at the Cheyenne Berean Church, 5716 Powderhouse, at 10 AM on this Saturday, October 19.

Edith Cook is looking for someone to watch her dog on Saturday nights when she comes to town and attends church. She is offering compensation for this kindness. If you can help out, please call her at 307-220-3519.

We still are looking for a volunteer or volunteers to assist in the sound booth on Sunday mornings. Randy and Harley are unavailable through November.  Experience is not necessary: we will train you. If you or someone you know would be willing to volunteer to help us in this capacity, please contact Rev. Hannah at minister@uucheyenne.org, or Tamra Mabe, our Administrator, at 638-4554 or by email at administrator@uucheyenne.org. Thanks!

Please join us for volleyball on Sundays from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.  We are a fun group, and we are not competitive

If you are new to the game we will help you learn or improve skills.  We are currently in a rebuild mode as many of our players have moved out of town.  We will keep volleyball going through November 10, 2019.  After that, if we don’t have at least eight regular attendees we will cancel the program.

We try to make this a game for everyone, but if you are under 13 years of age your parent has to be in the room while you play.  Non church members are also very welcome, so bring a friend.

No volleyball on October 20, 2019th since all of our leaders will be out of town.
If you have questions, please feel free to call Joe Corrigan at 630.6192.

Important! Please Read!

We have been experiencing a growing issue with peanut residue in the building, especially in the library.  Please, do not bring peanut products into the building, and if your little ones enjoy their peanut butter snacks before coming, please be sure their hands are clean before they touch surfaces used by everyone.  We are seeing almost daily allergic reactions, so we ask you to please be diligent. It may be an inconvenience to you, but it can be life-threatening to those who are allergic.

Upcoming Events

Join us on Saturday October 26th from 2:00pm to 3:30pm for Vens. Gyaltsen and Tendar’s presentation about the Nalanda Monastery in France, monasticism, and tips on leading a meaningful life.
