COMEA House Dinner

Saturday, October 21st

Join the UU volunteers who will be serving dinner at COMEA House on the 3rd Saturday of each month.  Serving at the COMEA House does as much for those who volunteer as it does for the people who line up for a meal, say thank you and ask for seconds.  If you are new to UU,  it is an easy, not time intensive way to become involved in community service. Serving at COMEA is a realistic, worthwhile way to give to your community.

UU volunteers gather to provide service at COMEA House every third Saturday of the month September through May.  In September, December and April The UU COMEA House committee provides the food, UU volunteers cook and serve.  Other months we serve the meals and share smiles with those who come through the line.

This month we will be serving and ask volunteers to arrive by 5:30 and stay until around 6:30 depending on the number of people who share the meal.

The sign-up sheet is in clipboard corner. If you have questions, please contact Mary Scherden (307) 220 2096 (, Thomas Redding (307) 640-6038.

Family Promise

Our next Family Promise Rotation will be Oct 22 through Oct 29.  The mission of Family Promise of Cheyenne is to provide homeless families with emergency and on-going shelter, meals, and supportive services through a unique partnership with various local faith communities.

We will need someone to be here with them from 5PM to 7AM Monday through Friday, all day Saturday, and Sunday afternoon.  Volunteers are also needed to provide dinners and to stay overnight.

You may sign up for a shift on the white board in the social hall or contact Carol Bowles (221-6445).

Membership Classes at UUCC!

The next class is Sunday November 5th!

Have you been thinking about becoming a member of our congregation? Are you interested in learning more about Unitarian Universalism or UUCC? Starting this month, we’ll be holding our new member classes on the 1st and 3rd Sundays of the month from 11:45 – 12:45 in the Library. On the first Sunday of the month, Rev. Hannah will lead us in an exploration of Unitarian Universalist history and identity. On the third Sunday, our Membership team will lead us through some history and identity of UUCC specifically. Newcomers and long-timers and everybody in between are welcome to attend!

Both classes will be required before joining UUCC, and there will be an opportunity to join the church on the 4th Sunday of every month! If you have any questions, please contact Rev. Hannah at

Lifespan Faith Development Registration

We know, we know, y’all are sick of school registrations, sign ups and general “back to” anythings. But it is that time again! Please update your Nursery-12th grade child’s registration for UUCC’s Faith Development. The easy online registration can be found following this link: UUCC DLFD Registration Form or you can go to the clipboard corner computer in the lobby and click on the registration button.

Can you unlock the church? Got Keys??

Do you have a key to the church? Or other doors within the church? Please check in with Shelley!

If your key(s) have numbers on them, click here and provide the key number (if etched on it), what it opens and your name. You can also stop by the clipboard corner computer next time you are at the church and click on the form and simply enter your key # there.

If your keys are not etched, stop by to chat with Shelley so she can etch them. It’s helpful to let her know you are coming so she can be ready for you.

We are also happy to accept returns of keys, if you no longer find yourself needing it. You can put it in the box on the administrator’s door in an envelope with your name on it and what it opens.

We are trying to clear up our records and ensure we know who has access to the building. Thank you for helping us secure our beautiful building.

peanut-allergyCHURCH NOTICE:

We have posted signs up around the church a number of times but again we must stress the importance of NOT bringing any peanuts or foods with peanuts in them into the building at all. We have a member of our congregation that has a deathly allergy to peanuts and anything with peanuts in them. When this member discovers there are peanuts in the building, they have to leave immediately. This means that they miss out on our various activities or meetings that they need to be at.  The allergy is critical and we DO NOT want to alienate this member or any others who have this allergy. PLEASE, PLEASE SPREAD THE WORD! that we cannot allow peanuts into the building. (If you are bringing in a packaged item, please try to check that it wasn’t manufactured in a facility that processes anything with peanuts.)
