Day-of-Mourn-01Pastoral Care Request

Church member Bob Means passed away last week, and his family is in need of some support for this week and the following weeks.  Can you provide an evening meal for 5-6, something for their freezer, or perhaps an invitation to a dinner or lunch?

Also, for his memorial service reception on Sunday, June 7, at 2 PM, we are in need of party food and desserts as well as help with set up and clean up.

Please call or email Sandi Gaulke to volunteer or offer food at 630-5856 or

Thank you!

Post-Office-Hours-Limited-On-April-15UUCC Post Office Box is no longer in effect

Please note that all mail going to the UUCC and being collected for UUCC should now be addressed to our street address at 3005 Thomes Ave. Cheyenne, WY 82001.

We have submitted a forwarding address with the post office and our vendors and  we will still be able to collect any mail still being addressed to the PO Box for at least 6 months but it would be helpful if everyone spread the word about this and reinforced this with everyone so that there will be no hold up in the mail for it to be re-routed to our street address.

Share the Plate

share the plateAs many of you know, each month UUCC engages in a critical community ministry we call “Share the Plate.” On the third Sunday of each month – unless it’s moved back a week due to a service conflict – our Sunday offering is collected and shared with an organization in our larger community. These organizations are chosen by the congregation, and each represents an important interest based on our mission and Principles.
Our giving is greatly appreciated by these organizations, which rely on the goodwill giving of people and organizations in the community. Each month, we receive thank you letters – and if you’d like to read them, just take a look at the bulletin board in the hallway that heads to our church office. There you will see many letters of thanks from our supported organizations. In addition, our administrator, Shelley, receives thank you calls from grateful groups. It’s an important element in our covenant – “to help others.”
As the fiscal year draws to a close, we want to lift up this work and celebrate it! Please remember to look for the notices of what organization will be included in the Share the Plate each month. The information put out includes details about what the organization is and what they do for our community. We post this information on our website at, in our monthly newsletter,The Focus, in our weekly email (the week before the collection), as well as on our “Announcements” computer in the lobby. Below is a recap of what has been collected and sent in the last 11 months. Our last month for this year will be going to Bethel Outreach. Let’s finish this year with a bang! Help us celebrate our generosity to our larger community!

Plant Watering at UUCC

Many of you may not be aware but the plants throughout the church are being watered every Friday by Lynne Weidel. She did take over the care of them for Ilse Sorenson. We are concerned that there are other people watering the plants also which could be hurting them and making them wilt. Over watering can cause the same effect as underwatering so we are asking everyone to please not water the plants. We understand that when you do this you are doing it out of love but we don’t want to over love the plants either :)

OWL (Our Whole Lives)

OWLUUCC would like to eventually offer an OWL education for our entire congregation. But for our first session we would like to focus on the age group that would most widely benefit from the program. If you would be interested in your child or yourself attending an OWL Education program, please provide the participants name(s) and age(s), as well as the guardian’s (if applicable) name and contact information on the sign up sheet at clipboard corner.
