John Murray, one of the founders of Universalism in America, preached about a kind and loving God. This Sunday, as we continue exploring our monthly theme of Hope, we’ll consider what lessons his life and ministry have for us today.
Don’t forget to read Rev. Hannah’s monthly blog, A Month of Hope!
Who are we? Telling stories about UUCC
Have a story about our church? Come share them with Rev Hannah and other members of the congregation. Stories are important ways to transmit information and for Rev Hannah to learn about our history and how we see ourselves. These stories might include how we came to be, or how we came to be in this building, how the music program has grown and changed, or why we have certain rituals or relationships with other groups. This will be valuable for her to understand as she moves forward with developing and implementing ideas for how we might better serve our congregation. Please come share your story with us, or come listen to the stories. Everyone welcome regardless of how long you have been a member or friend.
There will be two opportunities. December 13 from 7-8:30 PM and December 17 from 1-2 PM. Childcare will be provided both times.

Meet some of the board members, ask questions, and learn about our church’s govnance.
The next class is Sunday December 17th!
NOTE: the classes will be swapped in December.
UUCC 101 will be on Dec. 3rd and UU 101 will be on the 17th.
Have you been thinking about becoming a member of our congregation? Are you interested in learning more about Unitarian Universalism or UUCC? Starting this month, we’ll be holding our new member classes on the 1st and 3rd Sundays of the month from 11:45 – 12:45 in the Library. On the first Sunday of the month, Rev. Hannah will lead us in an exploration of Unitarian Universalist history and identity. On the third Sunday, our Membership team will lead us through some history and identity of UUCC specifically. Newcomers and long-timers and everybody in between are welcome to attend!
Both classes will be required before joining UUCC, and there will be an opportunity to join the church on the 4th Sunday of every month! If you have any questions, please contact Rev. Hannah at firstname.lastname@example.org

Our Sanctuary guest, Juan, continues to reside at UUCC. He enjoys afternoon visitors – he’s quite good at dominoes – and appreciates an evening meal on Wednesdays and Thursdays. His family provides food for the other days. You can sign up to help at www.tinyurl.com/wysanctuary
We also appreciate the gifts of grocery cards to help the family and monetary gifts to the Workers Emergency Fund to support the wider community.
For more information, call Sandi Gaulke at 630-5856.
Join the Wake Now Our Vision Campaign by including UUCC in your planned giving with no up-front financial commitment. Every new pledged gift will be matched up to 10% with an immediate gift to our congregation. Help us raise $100,000.00 in matching funds by joining the campaign today. Ask a committee member for more information.
We have posted signs up around the church a number of times but again we must stress the importance of NOT bringing any peanuts or foods with peanuts in them into the building at all. We have a member of our congregation that has a deathly allergy to peanuts and anything with peanuts in them. When this member discovers there are peanuts in the building, they have to leave immediately. This means that they miss out on our various activities or meetings that they need to be at. The allergy is critical and we DO NOT want to alienate this member or any others who have this allergy. PLEASE, PLEASE SPREAD THE WORD! that we cannot allow peanuts into the building. (If you are bringing in a packaged item, please try to check that it wasn’t manufactured in a facility that processes anything with peanuts.)
