COMEA House Dinner April
UUCC will be serving dinner at COMEA House Saturday, 15 April (the third Saturday of the month). It takes only about an hour of your time between 5:30 and 6:30 and is a worthwhile way to help others, to serve the community. If you have any questions, contact Mary Scherden (307) 220-2096, Mac Marino (305) 393-1505 or Thomas Redding (307) 640-6038. Sign-up at clipboard corner by Thursday,13 April.
April Share the Plate
COMEA House is an emergency shelter for men, women, and families. COMEA provides far more than emergency shelter, a hot shower, and a cup of soup. Residents meet with a case-manager to develop a plan of action. Together, they identify barriers and challenges, as well as the community resources available to help. Residents are fed a hot breakfast and a substantial evening meal. Clothing is available as well as all the necessary hygiene items. Free medical attention at Crossroads Clinic, employment classes, AA and Church are also available at COMEA. COMEA also assists travelers passing through Cheyenne in the form of travel assistance, food boxes, gas vouchers, bus tokens, and bus fares.

Easter Potluck Brunch
Our Annual Easter Sunday Potluck Brunch is a go, and will be Easter Sunday, April 16th following service in the Social Hall.
Your Fun & Fellowship/Membership Team are in need of lots of volunteers to help with this event. We are needing your help with setting up the hall on Saturday April 15th from 3 to 5 pm., putting out food on Sunday at 9 a.m., and of course help doing dishes and cleaning up the social hall from our fun time together.
A sign-up sheet will be at clipboard corner this week, for volunteer help, and a food item contribution sheet as well. If you have any questions, please contact Thomas Redding at 307-640-6038.
Lunch with TED!
Wednesday, April 19, 2017 at 12:00 pm
Join us on the third Wednesday of each month for lunch and mental exercise! TED Talks are short presentations by some of the best thinkers in science, medicine, social issues and global innovation. Bring a lunch and join us in the UUCC library for the short 15 minute viewing and the engaging conversation and reflection that follows.
HELP US BUILD THE UUCC OF OUR DREAMS
A key task before welcoming a new minister is to take our Warm & Welcoming/New Member processes to the next level. What has been a struggle for us is getting enough people really focused on this work. If you care about UUCC and love that we are growing, please consider joining our Warm and Welcoming team. We’ll train you to:
- be an amazing Sunday greeter, who follows up with newcomers;
- help us lead “UU Chats,” 20-minute post-service conversation times with visitors and newcomers;
- build out our effectiveness in helping people cross the bridge from visitor to active member!
- work to add new programs to help longer term members continue their spiritual growth and connection to the UUCC community.
WE NEED YOU in this wonderful work! Contact Rev. Audette at revfulbright@gmail.com or speak to her at church if you are willing to get involved!

CHURCH NOTICE:
We have posted signs up around the church a number of times but again we must stress the importance of NOT bringing any peanuts or foods with peanuts in them into the building at all. We have a member of our congregation that has a deathly allergy to peanuts and anything with peanuts in them. When this member discovers there are peanuts in the building, they have to leave immediately. This means that they miss out on our various activities or meetings that they need to be at. The allergy is critical and we DO NOT want to alienate this member or any others who have this allergy. PLEASE, PLEASE SPREAD THE WORD! that we cannot allow peanuts into the building. (If you are bringing in a packaged item, please try to check that it wasn’t manufactured in a facility that processes anything with peanuts.)
WUULF summer camp needs teachers!

We need two or three more teachers for the youth programs that meet on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday during morning and afternoon hours. Teachers get their expenses covered by WUULF. To register, see the website and catalog at wuulf.org. Prospective teachers can contact Di Mapes at dianajoymapes@yahoo.com.
