Dear UUCC Members and Friends,

Over the past two years of our ministry together, I’ve had lots of conversations about how we can create opportunities for people of all ages to grow in their spiritual depth. We have a marvelous program for our children and youth, but our offerings for adults have been a bit scattershot. I know that many of you are hungry for time and space to explore and grow together, and so I’m excited to let you know that we’re going to be trying out a different Sunday morning structure this fall to create that time!

Two Hour Church is an experimental Sunday morning structure that UUCC will be trying out September through November of 2019. Instead of having our children’s Faith Development programming during worship, people of all ages will worship together, and then there will be Faith Development programming for children, youth, and adults during the hour following worship.

Here’s a general outline of what Sunday morning will look like:

    • 10:00 – 11:00 am — Worship for everyone in the sanctuary

    • 11:00 – 11:15 am — Transition time with coffee and snacks in the lobby

  • 11:15 am – 12:15 pm — Faith Development offerings for children, youth, and adults

There’s more information available here, so please check that out to learn more!

This is an exciting new way for us to try doing church together, and I know that folks will have lots of great questions and useful feedback as we work to implement it. You can email me at minister@uucheyenne.org at any time, either to offer feedback or to set up a time to meet.

There will also be three more structured opportunities to offer feedback:

    1. Wednesday, May 8th from 7:00 – 8:00 pm via Zoom, a video and conference call platform (more information about how to join that meeting on page 4 of this info sheet)

    1. Thursday, May 9th from 5:30 – 6:30 pm in the UUCC Library (all ages welcome)

  1. Sunday, May 12th at a special conversation table set up in the Social Hall during the Mother’s Day Cake Auction

I am looking forward to trying this out together. It, like everything we do, will be imperfect and occasionally messy. But I believe that it will also be joyful, spirit-filled, and (dare I say) fun!

In faith,

Rev. Hannah
