Thank you to everyone who donated, set up, organized, bought and tore down. The Faith Development Committee raised almost $700 and what is even more amazing…. IT WAS A 0$ COST FUNDRAISER! No expenses whatsoever!!! Every dime we brought in goes directly into the UUCC General Fund. On top of that… we met and helped a bunch of amazing people.
FUN FACTS – Did you know, some of our neighbors wait all year for our Garage Sale? We also have some long time friends who stop by to browse every year. We even met a family who started coming to our church and joined our community after attending one of our garage sales a few years ago. The conversations and relationships built through the Faith Development Committee’s community outreach such as the Garage Sale is priceless!
HELP!!!!
Summer Sunday School needs a few volunteers to fill the summer schedule! Between injuries, illnesses, vacations and family emergencies with our regular, year round volunteers, we are need of some HELP!!!!. Summertime is the time that many families travel and church members are busy with other outside activities. We understand!!!   Please, consider volunteering one hour in July or August in our Faith Development program. You’ll be glad you did!!!! Each Sunday is already planned, we just need you to help manage our experience. Contact Mary @ dfd@uucheyenne.org or click here to chose an open date. Thank you!!!
This is a week long experience for youth ages 1st – 12th grades. Last year we had over 30 volunteers donate close to 1500 hours to make this camp a success. Camp 2018 served approximately 35 youth with 12 of those youth coming from outside our congregation. Every year, planning for camp starts in Feb or March. An astonishing amount of manpower hours goes into organizing and putting together this yearly event. After much consideration it has been decided that our full day camp will move back to a ½ day camp to accommodate our budget and our staff constraints as well as sustainability considerations. Camp this year will be 9am – 12pm (with an optional lunch hour 12-1pm for pick up and games), Monday through Friday, August 12-16th.

We are excited to announce that UU Casper is raising funds through the UU crowdfunding site faithify.org to help create a Reverend James Reeb Memorial Mural in his hometown of Casper.

Many UUs know the story of UU minister and civil rights martyr James Reeb, who was murdered in Selma, Alabama in 1965 while protesting in support of voting rights. What UUs may not know is that Reverend Reeb grew up in Casper, Wyoming, and served there as a Presbyterian minister before his faith journey led him to Unitarian Universalism and civil rights activism.

The fundraiser runs through July 27, 2019, and the public unveiling of the James Reeb Memorial Mural is scheduled for August 24, 2019.

9th-12th grade youth are invited to Mountain Desert District youth events. Please contact Jessy Hennesy, MDD Youth Conference Coordinator, with questions, at mddconcoordinator@gmail.com.

June 30-July 6 – QUUest Camp (and Spirit QUUest Camp for middle school youth), La Foret Conference and Retreat Center, Colorado Springs, Colorado
