We are winding down, my friends.
Myself and the RE Committee have sent in our budget, solidified our Summer Camp theme and dates, launched our Playground Committee and we have looked on our work and called it “good.”
It is good work that the RE Committee and our amazing RE volunteers do and I want to make sure that you know about it.
Our Summer Camp this year will be a Service theme. We will be volunteering, learning new skills, deepening our ties to the community of Cheyenne. The dates will be August 11-15 and I’ll have sign up sheets on clipboard corner soon.
We have received a very generous donation to go toward building a play space for our children here at the church. The Playground Committee is forging ahead, learning building codes, city permitting, insurance requirements all while keeping the committee’s mission to build a joyful place to play that reflects our church is kept at the forefront. That is some heavy duty multitasking for one committee but we’re up for it! Please be looking out for a poster in the foyer describing where the committee is heading and looking for input from you.
I imagine most of you have been attended one of the stewardship dinners and have turned your pledges in by now but I want to remind anyone who was looking for non-financial ways that  you can give to the church, volunteering in RE is a fun and easy way to do that. As in past years, the summer program is made up of  folks who don’t typically work in RE but have a special skill or talent that they want to share with our youth. Every volunteer is paired with a seasoned RE volunteer so you don’t have to worry about knowing all of the particulars. Please see me if you are interested in this, regardless of lack of experience, we’d love to have you!
