Reports to: Minister
This position is 5 hours per week, with Sunday morning and weeknight hours required. Compensation for this position ranges from $14 – $17 per hour, depending on experience and education.

Job Expectations:
1. Sunday Services   a. Coordinate and conduct the musical portions of Sunday morning, Christmas Eve and any special Easter services.
b. Participate in planning the above with the Minister and Worship Committee.
2. Planning and Administration
a. Meet with Minister and Accompanist to plan for services.
b. Attend monthly staff meeting.
c. Research and recommend choral arrangements and thematic music in consultation with Minister and accompanist.
d. Supervise the Accompanist and guest musicians.
e. Recruit 3-4 volunteers to constitute a volunteer “Music Team.”
3. Weekly Choir Rehearsals – Responsible for weekly rehearsals and all Choir
performances.
4. Music Budget
a. Supervise the expenditures of the music budget funds to stay within the budgeted amounts.
b. Prepare an annual budget in cooperation with the Music Team for presentation and adoption by the UUCC Board.
c. Be available to consult with the Music Team to plan for the acquisition, maintenance, repair and usage of church instruments, hymn books, the music library and other materials.
5. Communications – Coordinate with the Music Team to publicize the music program and communicate with the congregation through the church newsletter.
6. Funerals / Weddings / Other Ceremonies – As the UUCC music professional, the Music Director will be consulted first to provide music for special services such as weddings, funerals, and other ceremonies to those using UUCC facilities. The Music Director will contract separately with the parties involved.

Employee will participate in an evaluation process to be determined by the minister, Board and staff.

***We realize the limited time available will not be enough to complete all these duties. Therefore, we wish to
have the Music Director oversee and help shape the program and empower volunteers in several of the areas
of responsibility. It is our expectation that a Music Team can be called upon and supervised by the Music
Director to complete the duties that may extend beyond the hours available.
